I have come to visit regurarely to live out my passion for wildlife photography, to bring people closer to the beauty of nature. At the same time I want to draw attention to the dark side of the developments that affects many species. Especially the fate of lions, the pride of Africa, whether I freedom or in captivity, for the abuse as trophy or medicine affects me. Lions are the “Ambassador” for what’s happening to wildlife in general. I am proud to be part of PAL to do something meaningful of what we are passionate about.</image:caption>

I remember being struck by the landscape's natural beauty and the majestic wildlife that surrounded us. Arguably no other animal is as revered as the African Lion. Which is why it breaks my heart that their numbers have fallen by over 40% in recent years. One species that plays a huge role in controlling things out there are lions! <image:caption>Serial Entrepreneur & Co-founder of Cleanwave. Sad but true. The king of the jungle needs our help. Now! Only 19.000 lions left living in free nature. It´s time to do something. Let´s make sure that our children and grandchildren still can see how beautiful nature in general and this fantastic animal in particular is. It´s a great honor for me to be an ambassador for P.A.L.</image:caption>

They once roamed most of Africa and parts of Asia and Europe, but the population has decreased heavily and they are now only found in rare parts in sub-Saharan Africa. Their majesty is unquestioned and they are part of who we are today. We need to protect our heritage and need to respect what was created and given to us on this earth.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Photographer As a wildlife photographer and safari expedition leader, I am often left wrestling with the concept of the extent of human involvement and interference in nature. After a number of years in the industry, I am more determined than ever before, that the best policy is as little human involvement as possible. To simply let nature take its course. However, there is certainly a place for human interference when it comes to the misuse of wild animals for personal profit and illegal gain. One of such practices is the hand-rearing of lions for the purposes of canned hunting practices. In the light of dwindling African lion populations, we have to do everything we can to ensure future generations have the privilege of viewing an abundance of these animals in their wild and natural habitats.</image:caption>

I therefore have a special affection for lions and try to live up to their legendary qualities – brave, affectionate, loyal. My hope is that ‘Protect African Lions’ will in time be able to halt canned hunting and prevent future trophy hunters of any kind, therefore showing the animal kingdom the respect it deserves. We are all one.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Photographer Lions were once found all over Africa, but it is estimated that today they only occupy 9% of their original home range on this continent. It is important for us as humans to protect this iconic species from extinction. The loss of lions has a negative effect on Africa’s fragile ecosystems. Lions play an important role in the food chain, helping to regulate numbers of the more dominant herbivore species, such as zebra and buffalo. Without lions to control them, these species can out-compete other animals, causing their extinction and reducing biodiversity. With the loss of lions will come a devastating loss of other important species.</image:caption>
